• Buy from a reputable manufacturer -- A company that will be here five years from now.
• Eventually, a part of your teleprompter is going to break, wear out, or get lost. If you can't buy spare parts, you might need to have something machined. Or worse, you might have to buy another unit.
• Reputable manufacturers usually cost a little more up-front, but it's usually worth it.
