Teleprompting for Film and Video

Need a teleprompter for your shoot? From large flat panel through the lens prompters to handheld cameras and more, we have equipment for all types of projects. Since every project is different, it's good to have flexible, seasoned operators who anticipate your needs, and make things happen fast — like magic. Some of the highlights of our service include:

Flat panel through-the-lens prompters
Our flat panels are available in 12" and 15" displays.

Specialty Prompting
We have teleprompter equipment for out of the ordinary applications: handheld cameras, jib arms, and off-camera prompting.

Spare Computers on every job
No extra charge for a little peace of mind. You never know when a computer might crash. (Some of our competitors charge for spare equipment.)

Professional Teleprompter Operators
90% of teleprompting is the operator. And sometimes they're one of the most visible people on the crew -- making changes and scrolling the prompter for VIPs.

Experience
We are the first teleprompter service in Texas. Since 1985 we've prompted countless projects: corporate video, commercials, broadcast specials, interactive CD's and more.

Get creative
Do you have a new way to use a teleprompter? Just when it seems like we've done it all, someone dreams up a new approach … and it works!

Frequently Asked Questions

What file format do you need for scripts?
We prefer any version of MSWord or "text."

Will the teleprompter work with my small format DVcam?
Yes, the prompter will work with most small format cameras. But, will your tripod work with our teleprompter? See the next question for more.

Do we need to rent a special tripod for the teleprompter?
Often, you don't need a special tripod. But, how much weight will your tripod carry? Combine the weight of your camera plus 16 lbs (our flat panel prompter). Does that sum exceed the maximum capacity of your tripod? Too much weight can compromise your camera moves, or even damage your tripod.

We want talent to look away from the camera, as if they're speaking to someone. Does the teleprompter have to be on the camera?
We call this "interview style" or "off-camera" prompting. To accomplish this, we position a monitor wherever you want the on-camera talent to look.

What is an Interatron?
It's a way of using a prompter for interviews. It's unscripted and the interviewed subject looks directly into the lens, not off camera. Some documentary directors are shooting in this manner. Two through the lens prompters are attached to two video cameras. One is aimed at an interviewer, and the other frames the subject. Interviewer and subject see each other in the prompters and they converse.

Will the teleprompter work in bright sunlight?
Exterior teleprompting has always been a challenge, especially if you're accustomed to working in a studio. Fortunately, our teleprompters are brighter than ever. You should be prepared to flag the prompter from direct sunlight light.

My client is concerned about her ability to read the prompter. How large are the letters?
Letters are usually about 1 to 1½ inches in height. For people with vision problems, we recommend our 15" prompter. It's the largest flat panel on-camera display available.

How does the teleprompter attach to the camera?
People ask if the prompter "hangs" on the camera. Actually, the teleprompter plate attaches to the tripod, and the camera sits on the prompter mount.
