Frequently Asked Questions

What is a presidential prompter?
Presidential prompters look like glass music stands on each side of the lectern. The speech can be seen on both panels. While the audience may notice the glass panels, they cannot see the words.

What are down stage monitors? (Or floor monitors or confidence monitors?)
These are large video screens positioned in the presenter's line of sight as he looks out into the audience.

How do I decide between using presidential prompters and down stage monitors?
If a presenter plans on speaking from the lectern, they would use presidential prompters. If she wants to wander the stage, use down stage monitors. Or you can stand behind the lectern and use stage monitors.
